Hello!

Last Saturday I went down to Bristol to see The Midnight Beast perform at Dot to Dot Festival which stretches across Bristol, Manchester and Nottingham.

If you don't know who The Midnight Beast are, then they are a comedy band from South-West London, who based their career around a parody of Tik Tok by Kesha, which was uploaded to youtube and then it accidentally turned into a career for them, they have also had two self-titled series on E4.

Anyway, I went to meet my friend Gem at temple meads in Bristol, who I had met through the band on twitter and i had skyped numerous times beforehand, however on the way down to Bristol, because of the bank holiday and the festival going on, a hour and a half journey turned into a three hour one.. let me tell you, half an hour to do three miles was not fun at all.

Heres a screenshot of how bad the traffic was down the M5

By the time we had made it to the venue at about 2 - 2:15 and collected our wristbands, we thought that we was extremely late and that we had no chance of getting to the front or meeting the boys at all.

We asked security how many people had turned up to the venue yet, as the doors were supposed to have opened an hour before we got there so we wasn't surprised that no-one was queueing up outside, and they said that neither any of the bands or fans had actually turned up yet!

We went in at around 3:30pm as the first band was cancelled so there was more time to kill than there would have been in the beginning. The security said that we wouldn't be aloud into the actual room until 4pm, but it turned out we were let in at ten to four anyway.

The first band came on at 4:30 and played a half an hour set, and then there was half an hour break before the next act came on and it carried on like that for two more acts, I will list them below:

The show was really good and i bruised my arms from the barrier at the front, which is currently making typing painful at the moment!

After the show me and Gem rushed out to make sure we could try and meet the boys afterwards

So we managed to meet them afterwards, and as always they are such lovely boys and really take their time with meeting you and never rush you!

I hope you enjoyed this post! I just had to share my happiness :D

I will leave you with some of my favourite photo's i managed to take from the concert :)

Hello!

Last week it was my Nan and Granddad's 50th Anniversary, so we went up to see them and gave them a chocolate cake (waitrose special... nothing fancy) and my mum also made them a cross stitch picture, as they love those kind of things!

Here they are just after eating their cake and posing with their new picture and balloons!

And here is the cake. My mum and I added the decorations before we took it up

Next i wanted to go and check out the Benefit stand in the new Debenhams that has opened quite near me, I have been there on previous occasions but i felt like i definitely needed to go again.. (if you're a Benefit addict like me, you'll totally understand)

This is what I purchased whilst in Debenhams. As i start to get really anxious in crowded places, a brand new debenhams was not really an ideal place for me. I was browsing through all of the different products on offer at the Benefit counter and decided on the Big Easy, i have had a sample from this before and really liked it, so i was really excited to get the full version.

The lady behind the counter could tell that i was a bit anxious so she decided to give me a few free samples to cheer me up, which really lifted my mood!

Big Easy - Benefit

The Big Easy is really lovely on the skin and literally feels like you are not wearing any foundation, it is a light but good amount of coverage for me, and, of course, i am the lightest shade.

It also has an amazing amount of SPF in it, which is also amazing for someone who burned in the space of 5 minutes.

My favourite thing about it is that it is so easy to blend, and as you are blending it, you can really feel it changing from a liquid to a powder, which gives a lovely finish.

It's Potent! Eye Cream - Benefit

Here is the one of the samples that i got from my trip, this is the It's Potent eye cream. I tried this out the other night before i went to bed and then again once in the morning. I prefer using this at night so it has chance to work into my under eyes and make me feel and look more awake in the morning.

Fake Up - Benefit

This was another thing that i received from the Benefit counter. This is the Fake Up concealer, this is used underneath the eye in a triangular shape, it is then dabbed into the skin with your fingers, this has alot of hydrating properties in it aswell as being a concealer.. big thumbs up from me!! however i think they should do a lighter shade!!

The POREfessional - Benefit

The last, but definitely not least, sample from Benefit, was The POREfessional. This is honestly my all time favourite primer, however i haven't tried any other high-end priming products as I haven't really had the budget to go and do so, but it is definitely better than all of the high street primers I have seen on the market.

So thats what i've been up to this week! Be sure to follow this blog if you enjoyed!! :D

What has your week been like? Be sure to leave a comment!

Hello!

Over the past couple of weeks I have been shopping quite a few times, just to get some new spring things in my wardrobe as I hardly have anything and want to leap out of my leggings comfort zone!

Here are the purchases, with an added pair of shoes which I bought after this photo was taken but really wanted to include them.

First up is this T-shirt dress, I really like this as the little faux leather details around the neck-line and the sleeves really add a good amount of detail to it. This comes to about halfway up my thigh, as I am only 5ft'1 you might want to check the length before buying as it definitely would be too short on tall people.

The fit is really nice and baggy at the top and then gets a tiny bit tighter around the hips and downwards. I think it would pair really nicely with some black tights for an evening or just a smarter daytime outfit, it is really versatile.

Next up are these shorts, I really think that these are really casual for a summer day and are also really comfortable! The little draw string actually works which is great because I hate the fake ones that don't do anything.

The pattern is really casual and isn't to overpowering or too bright for me, as I don't usually go for really blocky colours in my clothing.

Next up I ordered these shorts from Forever 21 online just to see whether I would suit something like this or not. I think as it still has the green throughout most of it, it would be great for evening wear with some black almost opaque tights aswell as on their own in the day, but I will still probably wear tights during the day anyway as I'm not one to show off my legs.

They are really comfortable and I like the frilly edges at the bottom. The top is quite fitted which I usually tend to stay away from as my stomach does not like anything even barely tight against it (which is a real pain). However this has been stitched with elastic cotton throughout the back panel instead of a strip of elastic, which makes it alot softer on my stomach and not tight at all.

I picked up these sunglasses as I cannot find any that suit my eye shape or hide my eyebrows in anyway, but I finally found some at a whim when I was in New Look a couple weeks back. I really like the shape of them and I think they really protect my eyes well, without totally blocking out my vision. I also like the leopard print and colour of them, all for a really good price!

I picked these three product up in Boots about three weeks ago.

First up is the new No7 mascara, I tried this out as soon as I got back home and I think that it has a really nice wand to it but I dont think it has the 'Intense Volume Control' that it says it does. I also thing that it clumps quite easily and stays wet for a very long time.

Next up was this Barry M nail varnish in the shade 'Lychee' which is a very yellow/grey toned nude and is perfect for an everyday colour, if you aren't feeling like something bright or deep. Like all of the other Gelly polishes from the line, they go on really thick and very opaque, give a great shine, dry fairly quickly and have a good lasting power.

The final thing I bought in boots is this Batiste dry shampoo, this smells literally like heaven when it is on your hair, the cherry makes everything smell alot more like fruity shampoo than 'Oh you have just sprayed dry shampoo everywhere', however it does smell alot of alcohol when it is in the can.

Shows the colour much darker than it actually is on the site.

I picked up these Jeggings from New Look that do not have a buckle like most jeans do, but they still feel like they have the same quality of jeans and not like leggings at all. As I cannot wear jeans as they rest on my stomach these are a great alternative and I think I will get alot of wear out of them.

Last but definitely not least are these sandle wedges. They have a really small heel, around an inch and a half tall, which means they are really comfortable to wear and will be really handy when going to a party or an evening meal as they wont hurt my feet after a while of standing and at the same time they will be ultra comfortable with the extra padding in the soles, they are also wide fit which adds more to the extra comfort.

I hope you liked this collective haul from the last couple of weeks!!

I will be posting a few more of these in the coming weeks :D

What was your favourite item?

Hello!

Now before you look at the title of this post and get a horrible image in your mind.. let me explain..

In Hereford, near where I live, there has been a new shopping centre in the making for quite a while now, and it has finally opened. As soon as I found out that there was a large Debenhams there, I was straight in there and looking for the high-end stuff.

If you aren't familiar with Debenhams for some reason then it is a large shop with lots of clothing in and can also sell alot of high-end clothing and makeup brands.

As soon as I walked in, there they were, in the Urban Decay section, the Naked palettes. I walked straight over to them in my own little daydream leaving my mum wondering what the hell I had found this time.

I spoke to the lady behind the counter about which palette would suit my skin tone the best and we both agreed on the Naked 2. There was an offer on that day that if you bought any of the large Naked palettes you could have another product from the whole of Urban Decay with 10 pounds off. So naturally I went to the eye-liners and lip gloss's and I finally settled on a Coral coloured lip gloss.

Naked 2      -      Naked Lipgloss 'Streak'
Here they are... and I must say, they are beautiful

First up when I opened the packaging up, I came across this little freebie. I'm all up for free things, especially if there is a large sample inside, as I'm sure you are too. It came with four free little Primer Potions, which I am sure, if you watch any beauty guru's on YouTube, you will know about this and all the hype around it.

I am really excited to try it and will give everything a full review when I have been using it for a while and as it says on the back of the packaging, each pot of primer is a weeks worth!!

Next up is the packaging, I really like it because it feels quite stern and safe for all of the colours inside. It's also handy to travel with as you don't have to worry as much about the inside getting ruined.

Colours Left to Right - Foxy, Half Baked, BootyCall, Tease, Snakebite, Pistol, Verve, YDK, Busted, Blackout

Now for the colours, as the lady behind the counter said, they all suit my paleness as pinks and purples that are brighter seem to just drown out my eyes and make them look a bit more red than pretty.

As I haven't really ventured out into the eye shadow world as much as I would have liked to, I think this is a great palette to start with, especially with the neutrals.

My favourite part is the left end of the palette, I think they are all very versatile and all of the colours in this palette vary from matte shades to beautiful shimmers.

I also tried to do swatches for all of these but my camera would pick up the lighter shades on my arm :( But I'm definite that there are hundreds of other and more professional reviews out there.

In the shade - Streak

Last but definitely not least is this Lip gloss, this is from the Ultra Nourishing Gloss range, that I linked earlier in the post, they really are ultra nourishing.

The lady was showing me some really nice colours that fitted my skin tone, which I liked because I never know what will suit me until I get home and try it on my lips, which is usually too late, as most things don't look the same as swatching on your hand in my opinion.

I really like this coral colour, I think it is really fitting for spring and is not too bold for my neutral look.

Well I hope you liked this small post!!

I really like sharing the things I am buying at the moment!

Have you tried any of these products? If not are you gonna give 'em a try??

Cheerio!
