Clarins vs Ren - First Impressions

Friday 18 March 2016

Good Afternoon Lovelies!

So for the past couple of weeks I have been trying out these two high-end moisturiser mini's to see which one is better, in my opinion!

I'll start by saying that my skin is super dry at the moment but it is usually normal to dry depending on the weather.

Clarins - HydraQuench Cream - £36

Now this is a bit of a pricey moisturiser but I always think that you should spend more on your skincare because if you don't have a good base to sit your makeup on then whatever product you use, it will not look right.

Firstly, I ADORE the smell of this, it spells so fresh and slightly fruity, so if you aren't a fan of scented moisturisers, then I wouldn't go near this product.

Once applied to my face the first thing I noticed was that it is quite cooling, so it is good if you want a bit of a wakening up in the morning, and it also sinks into the skin quite well, as well as only needing to use the tiniest bit to do your whole face!

Once I had applied my primer over the top and started working in my concealer I noticed that the product started to roll off my face and was just not settling onto my skin and it was down to this moisturiser! I've never really had that happen before but it definitely is one for night time instead of the morning.

Ren - Daily Supplement Moisturising Cream - £20

So this is definitely a lot less pricey than the other one which is already a plus!

Now this definitely also has a scent too but it is more of that traditional 'moisturiser' kind of natural clean scent rather than the strong one that Clarins had.

When I first applied this it felt slightly cooling again and also a lot thinner than the Clarins one. It also sunk into the skin a lot quicker than the other and instantly makes your skin feel hydrated and smooth.

Once I started to apply the same primer and work in the same concealer it blended in so seamlessly! My concealer didn't cling onto any of my dry patches or cake around my nose, it just blended in a lot better than with any other moisturiser I have used!

So overall, I think there was a clear winner out of those two, especially with the price difference! I'm definitely going to be purchasing the full size now (feel unique.com I'm coming for you).

I hope you enjoyed this little comparison/first impressions post :-)

I have also been loving receiving the Blogosphere magazine at the moment! If any of you are a fan of Lily Pebbles then you should definitely check out this issue!

Until Next time..
