Summer Makeup Collection

Tuesday, 17 June 2014

This week i thought i would organise my Summer makeup bag. These are going to be the essentials that i will reach for everyday in the summer.

I am going to show a couple variations of each makeup category (if thats what its called).

First up is the base, these are my favourite lightweight bases for the summer which won't feel like your face is caked in makeup.

Big Easy from Benefit: This is like a tinted moisturiser that is a quite thick and waxy. It is to be applied with your fingers and as you blend it into your face it slowly changes into a powdered finish, but doesn't look cakey on the skin at all.

123 Perfect CC cream from Bourjois: This is more of a creamy finish and a really good alternative to the Big Easy, it has colour corrective components in it aswell as hydration.

Smoulder Kohl (brown) by Soap and Glory: This is a very creamy eyeliner pencil that glides on really well and is highly pigmented.

Real Techniques Shading Brush: I like to smudge out the liner to have a more bronzed and softer look to the eye. This brush is really soft and really good quality, as well as being the perfect shape for your eye.

I think highlighters and blushers are really important in the summer, as you definitely don't want to look washed out and have no colour on your face.

High Beam highlighter from Benefit: This gives a really nice natural looking glow that does not look shimmery or glittery, it just gives a really nice sheen to the high points of your face.

Natural Blush Tint powder // Soft Damson from No7: This is really subtle and is a great powder alternative for the summer, it really lifts your cheeks and is definitely wearable throughout spring and summer.

Bene-tint from Benefit: This is a cheek and lip stain that is really subtle when applied to the cheeks, it is definitely not as harsh as it looks like in its bottle. I have the mini version and it has lasted be so long already! For lips i would apply a clear lip balm first and then paint this over the top and massage it together with my lips, this creates a really nice lip stain without being drying.

Urban Decay Naked lipgloss in Streak: This is a gloss that is really creamy on the lips and also nourishing. It doesn't dry out your lips at all and can easily last all day with only a few touch ups!

Barry M lip gloss in the shade 'lgw2': This is really creamy and not sticky at all, it has a really nice mellow shade that isn't too bright and will go perfect for an everyday look.

The Falsies Volume Express Mascara (flared) by Maybelline: This is a really good mascara if you want to volumize and lengthen your lashes, and it really does work!

They're Real from Benefit: This is the standard cult beauty product that everyone raved about when it came out, and still do! Although i feel as if this mascara would be for people who already have extra long eye lashes and don't want to lengthen them, because this definitely lengthens and lifts the lashes greatly. They also stay up ALL day (which is what we wanna hear right)

Onto nails.. now i bought these two polishes from Aston & Fincher (which if you don't know, its a wholesalers for people in the hair and beauty industry).

Chubby Cheeks by Essie: This is a really vibrant colour that would be perfect for someone who likes bright coral oranges.

Demure Vixen by Essie: This is more of a mellow toned varnish, a little bit like Porchester Square from Nails inc. However i think it has more purpley tones in it, which is really lovely for the summer and autumn.

Kick Ass by Soap and Glory: This is an instant re-touch transparent powder by soap and glory that can be used by itself or underneath makeup to act as a primer. It will blur out everything if you use it alone, however it will make the staying power of your makeup last, aswell as setting your primer if you use it underneath makeup.

Stay Matte powder by Rimmel: This is a matte transparent powder that will set your makeup in place and make sure everything stay where it should be for the whole day with only a few touch ups.

Last but definitely not least is primers.. (apologies for the bad photo, my camera was playing up)

Stay Perfect primer by No7: This is a really smooth and flawless primer that is quite wet to the touch. It has an oil-free formula which will help create the perfect lightweight base without you even knowing its there.

The POREfessional by Benefit: This is a tinted primer which blurs over all blemishes and imperfections on the face, you can wear this alone or under your base to create lasting makeup that will stay all day!
